Welcome to Blycolin

Ever wondered who manages the linen in your hotel room? We do. Through our industrial laundries we manage, wash and deliver more than 100 tons of textiles per day - hygienically clean and in a sustainable way.

Want to know how our sustainable laundry process washes your textiles clean?

First, we pick up used textiles from our restaurant and hotel customers. At our laundry, we will sort the textiles - as you know from home, rule number one is to separate white textiles from the rest. We will also sort based on the article category - terry need not be washed with linen.

Perhaps the biggest washing machine you will see. While they vary in size, machines with 15 chambers and a capacity of 50kg per chamber is often used. Sustainable washing is all about utilizing the chambers and balancing detergent and temperature supply.

Terry is pressed with about 40-55 bar to squeeze out water from the washing process. Less residual moisture means less energy needed for drying. Terry is then tumbled before reaching the folding section. Our modern laundry setup ensures reuse of energy and lower consumption.

We flatten and dry all our linen on a huge, speedy, and steamy hot ironer. Typically, an ironer runs 25 km/h with a heat-setting of 180°. But with our innovative textile technologies we are now able to increase the speed, reduce the temperatures, and extend the lifetime of our textiles.

The final step is to distribute our sustainably washed and clean textiles right your hotel or restaurant so you can enjoy your stay. The key to sustainable distribution is to utilize the truck capacity when delivering and returning. And of course we gradually switch to electric trucks.

We pioneered the sharing- and pay-per-use economy with safe, reusable textiles

We go beyond washing. Even though we love our laundries they are just the means we use to achieve a higher end - and that is to provide safe and reusable textiles.

Our business model is perhaps the pioneer of the sharing- and pay-per-use economy. Several decades ago, we started buying textiles to rent them out to hotels and restaurants. That way, we were able to pioneer the first sharing- and pay-per-use model - this way, our textiles are reused and customers only pay per use. After contract expiration, we reuse those same textiles for other hotels or restaurants for them to enjoy.

To top it off, we use our laundries to efficiently wash our textiles ensuring low emissions. We care for and reuse our textiles to extend their life span. And we wash according to international standards to ensure clean and hygienic textiles for your stay. And then we repeat it all again as we have done for decades.
